Working in the Park

PSPS organizes work parties that are out in the park, getting dirty or staying clean and interacting with the public. If you like to spend time outside putting in some hard work, consider volunteering for the following groups.

3rd Sunday Work Parties
Our 3rd Sunday work parties perform various tasks throughout the park including restoration planting and the closing of illegal trails.

Camosun Bog Restoration Group
This group has transformed Camosun Bog from dumping ground into a pristine ecological oasis. Join our “Crazy Boggers” Saturday mornings as they maintain and restore Camosun Bog.

Catching the Spirit (summer only)
Designed by youth, run by youth for youth!
If you are 12 – 20 years old, get involved with this unique environmental stewardship program. This program runs in six regional parks throughout the GVRD.

Holly Haulers
Join our Holly Haulers every week as they tackle the worst patches of holly in the Park.

Ivy League
Our intrepid Ivy League meets once a month to remove large patches of Ivy from the forest.

Native Plant Restoration
Help us care for the many native plants we grow in our nursery (summer only) and plant out in areas requiring restoration (winter only).

Sunday Hosts (summer only)
Our Sunday Hosts open up the Park centre for visitors on Sundays during the summer months, providing a warm welcome and useful information for all park visitors.

Trail Initiatives Group
Further to an advisory role, the Trail Initiatives group performs and annual mapping of illegal trails and works in collaboration with GVRD to close these trails.
